2004 LB PROJECT:

Faces of Leadership Buffalo Class of 2004

Faces of Buffalo partnered with Leadership Buffalo to create a piece of art that celebrates and commemorates their class of 2004. 875 visual data squares, collected from 4 creative exercises, based on the organizations core values; are the heart of the image.

Faces of Buffalo Self Portrait Response Form

Participants created their faces for Faces of Buffalo to be included in the 2005 community-wide mosaic. These faces were used in their class mosaic too!

Close up of the mosaic: sample 1

Everything fits together to represent the class.

Visual Data: Name Square

Class members were asked to be expressive and decorate a square with their name.

Visual Data: Openness to Change

This exercise, based on one of 4 core values of Leadership Buffalo, provides visual data as a result of each individual exploring changes that they can affect in various levels of their life experience.

Visual Data: Service

The Shield of Service was created to diverge a list of service activities each person enacted in the previous week; then to converge on one and express it visually. Service is a Leadership Buffalo core value.

Visual Data: Diversity

Exploring this core value reinforced participants' thinking about how a set is really a culmination of its diverse members. It promoted unity of diversity in a creative and practical way.

Close up sample 2

All the visual data provided was used to create the overall image; celebrating and communicating a diverse group in a united, focused way.

Visual Data: Inclusion

Inclusion asked participants to explore their classmates and match vocation with perceived traits and values. This reflects general human attributes that people of different fields can bring to a group.

Close up sample 3

We all have something unique to offer to a community through our choices and actions; each brought something specific that no one else did.
