What is it?
It's an MCC art project
and fundraiser combined.
It's a BIG MOSAIC made from
people's drawn self portraits.
Up close you see thousands of
faces; from a distance you see the MCC TRIBUNE! Matted Prints will
be made available for sale as a fundraiser to battle Kidney
Disease and help one of MCC's own families!
What can I do?
Create your face and
spread the word.
Students,
faculty, staff, alumni, friends and families are invited to create
their faces. No special artistic skills are required. Everyone is
welcome. Draw alone or as a group. It's simple and easy to do.
Encourage others to draw too. It doesn't matter how well you draw,
participation is everything!

The Cause: The
Battle
against Kidney Disease
The Campus Activities Board at
Monroe Community College faces the battle against kidney disease
head on with this year’s community outreach project! Kathy
Navarro, Monroe Community College student extraordinaire, is
giving life to her nephew by donating one of her kidneys. Kathy’s
sister, Diane Dawson, who works at Monroe Community College in the
Instructional Technologies Department, has a preteen son, David,
who has dealt with kidney disease all of his life. With the
support of his family, friends, and medical care, he has been able
to be active in sports and dreams of being a professional athlete.
Kathy is donating one of her kidneys to help David live his
dreams, and she has to take off 6-8 weeks from work to give this
incredible gift.
All of the proceeds will be donated to support Kathy and David…to
help cover the co-payments, medical costs, and services for the
family during their recovery. Please take the time to draw a Self
Portrait and purchase a Faces of Monroe Community College Tribune
Mosaic.
